Low-maintenance flooring: introducing Stratex

Stratex flooring is leading the way in newly engineered flooring options for the home, ensuring low maintenance but excellent longevity. Here at South West Carpets we pride ourselves on sourcing only top-of-the-range flooring products for our loyal customer base. We like to deliver, with certainty, a range of flooring choices that will suit any home and any family. From plush carpets and elegant tiles to a rustic wood finish, we can ensure that our products are the best. So every now and then we like to introduce a product with a little more detail, to give our clients more information. This month we are diving into the Stratex flooring range, a new generation of flooring, supplied by Woodpecker.

Who is Woodpecker?

Woodpecker Flooring strives to do its very best every day, which is why it’s committed to being the first carbon negative flooring company by 2030. In planting 50,000 oak saplings, over 200 acres, in the beautiful countryside around its home in south Wales, Woodpecker hopes to ensure that future generations will continue to be inspired by the beauty of nature.

Every Woodpecker floor started its life over 100 years ago, telling its own story that will stand the test of time in your home. Options include bamboo, solid wood, engineered boards and Stratex flooring. There’s a Woodpecker floor for every home, for every family, and for every lifestyle. Stratex flooring is an incredibly strong, stable and water resistant solution that’s perfect for the modern home. It also comes with waterproof embossed vinyl and highly moisture resistant real-wood options.

What is Stratex Flooring?

Stratex flooring is the perfect solution for those looking to kit out their home with a product that is ultra durable, long-lasting and beautifully engineered. This low-maintenance, high-performance alternative to regular engineered flooring is a great choice for those looking to refresh their home this year.

Available in over 26 colours, you’ll be hard pressed to find an alternative that can seamlessly blend with any room in the house. Be it the bathroom, the living room, the kitchen or the kids playroom, Stratex flooring can withstand them all, and look good whilst doing so.

The technical details

Here at South West Carpets, we like to make sure our customers know the ins and outs of every product. When it comes to Stratex flooring it couldn’t be simpler. Stratex is unique to Woodpecker, and therefore unique to us. The designers have worked hard to blend layer upon layer in order to create such a resilient flooring option for all.

Customers are free to choose between a vinyl wood-effect or real wood top layer, depending on the purpose of the product, as some require less maintenance than others. You can also choose between a mineral or resin composite core for added strength, a built-in underlay for speed and ease when installing to your home, a low tog rating, making it compatible for underfloor heating in those colder months, and Easiloc joints, making this floor an easy and efficient option.

The benefits

Over the course of our long-established enterprise, the team here at South West Carpets have gotten to know our customer base, be it returning clients to new families looking to refresh their home. We know how difficult it can be to find an affordable, sustainable and durable solution to fitting your home with the perfect flooring. There are so many things to take into consideration, like muddy paws from the pooch, or dirty trainers from football training. Perhaps bathtime with the kids means the water goes anywhere but in the tub, or you want a hardwearing floor underfoot for high footfall areas. With Stratex flooring, you can be assured that this product will withstand it all.

Stratex flooring is family friendly, meaning it’s scratch resistant, highly stain resistant, low maintenance, easily fitted, and doesn’t hold onto mould or pests. In short, it’s great for those who like to keep a clean home and for allergy sufferers!

Thanks to the advancements in modern technology, engineered flooring like Stratex are now rivaling real hardwood floors, without the price tag, all whilst maintaining an incredible finish. So whilst real hardwood flooring is incompatible with underfloor heating, Stratex doesn’t have that problem. It’s also 100% waterproof when you opt for the vinyl upper layer, so you don’t have to worry about splashes, spills or warping in humid environments.

Which range is for you?

The Brecon Range

This range is Stratex’s hardest-wearing flooring, thanks to the added advantage of being waterproof and extremely durable. By swapping out the wooden top layer in favour of the wood grain-effect vinyl upper, this range supersedes anything we have supplied before, whilst still being beautifully designed. The long life span of this flooring option means you can install it once and know that it will be a weight off your mind for years to come. And with a range of different colours and styles, you can pick one to suit any room in your home.

The Lynton Range

Unlike the Brecon Range, the Lynton Range opts for that real wood upper layer. Created using Woodpecker’s unique Stratex flooring technology, this stunning natural finish is its most durable to date, with stunning looks to boot. The planks are also dent- and water-resistant, making them ideal for a busy family room like the kitchen that sees a lot of footfall.
